We have been watching the PBS "Freedom Riders" documentary about the members of CORE and SNCC who attempted to ride in integrated groups through the South and faced harsh opposition. The website contains a lot of great background information and first person accounts.

For more information about SNCC, go to the SNCC page on the right-hand side of the blog.
