HW#9: Interview adult/s about the race/class composition of their elementary / middle / high schools
Talk to an adult or adults about what the racial and class makeup of their childhood schools were, and what it was like going to school in that environment. Ask them if they know why their schools had that racial and class makeup. One page minimum.
HW#8: School segregation and integration first hand accounts
Read / highlight / annotate the chapter from Freedom's Children, "Different Classrooms: Segregation and Integration in the Schools" and describe what insights you gained from reading these accounts that you might not gain by reading textbook description of these events. One page minimum.
